Bold City Bike Builders is a small home business in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. We have zero overhead, which allows us to pass along considerable savings to you, the discerning and enthusiastic cyclist.
We are not frame builders. We build custom bicycles built to our customers' specifications, beginning with the frame and including custom hand-built wheels (made on-site).
Bold City Bike Builders are bold enough to offer you a bicycle that is built to your own specs for a fraction of what it would cost you to do the same somewhere else. The result is that your hard-earned dollars go a lot further, and you end up with a much better bicycle than you would for the same money elsewhere.
The builders at Bold City Bikes earned their chops the old-fashioned way: building bicycles, destroying bicycles, and rebuilding bicycles since youth. While they are experts at building bicycles for a variety of purposes--including touring, shopping, or cruising the main drag of your humble town--their real passion is for commuting bikes. As long time bicycle-commuters themselves, they are ready to offer advice on what they believe will work for your particular situation. Our builders work closely with each customer to ensure that what they want and need is what they get.
The central concept that drives Bold City Bikes forward is that a good, solid bicycle doesn't need to cost a fortune--big or small. For this reason, we do not focus on high-end racing bikes with all the latest and greatest gadgetry on Planet Earth. Nope, no hydraulics and no electronic shifting. For that, we suggest you visit your local bike shop. Don't forget to take the little plastic card with a big line of credit attached to it. What we do focus on are well-built bicycles that will last you a while and that will continue to do what they were designed to do without breaking the bank.
What you will get is a bike built from a frame of your choice and components of your choice, including hubs, rims, and spokes, which are brought together into hand-built wheels in our own garage out back.
